Brian and Lindsay chose an incredible venue. The Gwyn Careg Inn in Pomfret Center. I hope I get a chance to shoot there again–this place was amazing. So unique and just exquisite! There are several images of the grounds to share in this and future posts. The girls got ready in one of the rooms upstairs. Just beautiful! The owners, Dennis and Rosemary, were great–they were around all day making sure that everything was running smoothly and they were so inviting and friendly.

Okay. Without further ado–take a peek at some of the stunning details and the wonderful moments Robin and I captured as everyone got ready for the ceremony!

Lindsay’s dress was just breathtaking–wait until you see it on her! I just loved the colors she chose for her bridesmaids’ dresses. Three wore green and three wore the floral print–so bright and perfect for their garden setting.

I loved Lindsay’s reaction to first seeing her bouquet! Her flowers were by Lisa from Custom Floral in Storrs. They were so gorgeous!

Luckily, Robin was back in time to shoot along with me when Lindsay put her dress on. Good thing, too, because she got some incredible images. Hers are the 3 horizontals on the right, below. Love the expressions as her dress it fastened. Do you think she was just a wee bit excited?!

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing my clients Leigh and Patrick. They are from out of state so we took advantage of their visit home to Pat’s parents’ house to meet up and do their engagement session. We started off at the beach that Patrick grew up visiting and chose his grandfather’s favorite view–these huge rocks–to start our shoot. I love this spot not just because it is beautiful but because it is special to Patrick and reminds him of his grandfather.

Leigh and Patrick were SO fun to work with! We had never met but were laughing and having a ball in no time. When they sat in the chairs below they joked that this was our own version of a Cialis commercial. Totally!



One thing I loved about shooting Leigh and Pat was that they were totally up for driving around and looking for little nooks and crannies to shoot in. In fact, they had already scoped out the area ahead of time and had lots of ideas ready for me. Like this lovely spot:

The ceremony took place at a lovely church in downtown Torrington, Center Congregational Church. Here are some of my favorite images from the ceremony:

After the ceremony we headed to a park across the street to wrangle the family–and all those cute kids!–for some family photos.

This next batch is from a park that we went to for the wedding party pics. Huge props to Brent. He was given the task to find a place somewhere between the church and the reception with some nice open shade (hopefully!) to do some photos of the wedding party and of Ginny and Brent alone. He nailed it! This place was amazing.

Don't they look so great? Love the colors of the suits and dresses. And this little garden-mansion-nook was perfect!

I know–I’m lucky–couples this good-lookin’ make my job pretty easy! Ginny and Brent–thanks again for your patience and I hope you enjoy what you’ve seen so far!

Juliana was an exceptionally serene baby. She was really a pleasure to photograph.

I hope Trisha doesn’t mind me using her as an example! When I arrived for the newborn session, Trisha didn’t really plan on being in many photographs. She really wanted me to focus on Juliana and agreed to be in “a few” to make her Mom, husband and I happy! It turns out some of the most beautiful and powerful images of the day were of Mother and Daughter. Trisha is such a pretty new mom and you can clearly see her love for Juliana in every image.

I love Juliana's expression here! It seems to "say" so much for a newborn!

A favorite from the day...

This first shot is from their wedding last June. We took a picture of them standing in the same spot just over a year later with their brand new baby boy!

These shots below were so fun! They were given this tiny wagon as a present from some friends and were really hoping Ethan would fit in it for a couple of shots. We were lucky to get a couple of quick ones before he totally woke up!

Shelby and Ryan–congratulations on the birth of little Ethan! What a sweet little peanut he is! I had so much fun visiting and can’t wait to see him again when he is 6 months old!

After getting some snuggles I put him down on the floor in the living room where he could show off his “sitting up” skills.

James was getting a little squirmy so we took him outside for a change of scenery while we waited for his grandparents to come over. He LOVED being in the grass. It was like he was in a trance!

There was lots going on when Traci and I first arrived. We got started on some detail shots right away.

Loved Ginny's dress. So elegant. And wait till you see it on her!

Love this--Ginny put a little flower pin in her shoe that he grandmother wore in her shoe at her own wedding.

Ginny and Brent have a little boy, Ben, who was just under a year old at their wedding. This was his suit. Can you stand it?!

Dina did such a great job with the girls' make-up. Ginny looked flawless.

The flowers arrived while everyone was busy getting ready. Love Ginny's colors! (My Mom did her flowers--she's so talented!)

We started off by walking around the Weslyan campus.


















After walking around campus we stopped back at their house to pick up their dogs and their picnic basket. Turns out one of their favorite traditions is to take a basket with some champagne and a snack on a lovely, little date. So fun!
